Inspired by the Twenty8Twelve collection ‘Verushka in Shadow’, ‘Made in Britain’ represents monarchy and anarchy in equal measures. It looks towards Elizabethan England with particular reference to traditional mourning dress of that time.

It draws from British youth culture of the late 1970s with reference to the Shane Meadows film, ‘This is England’. In contrast to the softer romanticism of Elizabethan times, the Union Jack and its iconic colours is used to inject subversity into the pieces.
